Travel Tips
As the Blue Mountains area of Australia is EXTREMELY popular and we are subject to ongoing roadworks on the Great Western Highway around Lawson. we suggest that you try to avoid the traffic buildup on sunny days that occur around 10.30 am to 12 noon and coming back at about 3.00 to 4.30 pm. So leave home earlier and aim to travel to Leura/Katoomba and arrive before 10.30 am. When you have to check out of your Blue Mountains Accommodation, kick back a bit at at a nice cafe and leave after 5.30 pm or better still, have a meal at one of our many brilliant restaurants and return totally stress free in the evening. Alternatively take the train anytime for a great ride in the comfy Blue Mountains Trains that go hourly from Central Station. Stations are right in the centre of Leura, Katoomba, Medlow Bath and Blackheath.
Travel to your bed and breakfast or self contained cottage in the Blue Mountains by road or train. traffic is much lesser on weekdays, The Blue Mountains accommodation rates are reduced for week days and you can get some great bargains for mid-week stays. We love to see you but if it is a weekend as soon as the news hits the TV, everyone and their dog jumps into the car to see the snow and it is bedlam on the Great Western Highway. The roads can also close after Katoomba occasionally so check out the road conditions at the Live Traffic NSW website anytime. Best of all, catch the Blue Mountains Train for a trouble free journey. Stations are right in the centre of Leura, Katoomba, Medlow Bath and Blackheath.

You can either bypass or vist, then next is Leura (where our office is) and Katoomba. Allow 2 hours from Central Sydney to Katoomba - the heart of the Blue Mountains.
