This Saturday top makers and creators from the Blue Mountains, Sydney and beyond will converge on the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre to create a market of a different kind. With live music on the forecourt, great coffee and food on offer at the Cultural Centre cafe, meet the makers of exceptional handcrafted wares and artworks, all for sale from 10am to 3pm.

 Visitors to the Blue Mountains are attracted to the spectacular views, the opportunity to get back to nature with bushwalking at your doorstep, great food and coffee, and also the shopping.

Katoomba is a great stop for all of the above, and visitors keen to take home quality and unique handcrafted artworks and gifts will most certainly find them in Katoomba.

Blue Mountains Star Gazing Tours

A new kind of tourist is making their way to the Blue Mountains, where they can enjoy the best of both worlds - being immersed in the wilderness of the valleys by day, and gazing up at the wondrous stars in clear skies by night.

Now in it's 2nd year, the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre's Collector's Edition 2# provides a great opportunity for visitors and locals alike to start or add to their own art collection while supporting the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. This Friday, 24th July, over 80 original artworks by prominent artists including Joan Ross, David Middlebrook, James Blackwell and many more will be for sale through silent auction.

The question on the mind of many locals in the past 2 weeks has been  ‘What happened to Fresh Café in Katoomba?’

Café owner and manager Sarah Vassallo assures lovers of good food and great coffee that there is no need to worry. Fresh café has had a revamp – and reopened its doors as the aptly named ‘Clean Slate’ with the same friendly chef, barista and wait-staff. A little bit of Melbourne has arrived on the mountains café scene.

Winter in the Blue Mountains is the perfect time of year for chocolate aficionados to get away from it all, and spend the entire weekend enjoying attractions of the Blue Mountains, with a focus on their favourite dark delight.

During the weekend of 3, 4, and 5 July, the Blue Mountains celebrate chocolate - with events, tastings, and special menus in a variety of venues throughout the Mountains during the Blue Mountains Chocolate Festival.

The list of events is growing, so to help those who find it too hard to decide, we have put together a collection for what would be the ideal mountains getaway for chocolate lovers.

 

Art lovers will be delighted to discover the range of art galleries and establishments exhibiting and celebrating art in the Blue Mountains region. These range from volunteer-run galleries in Historic Houses & abondoned shops, to the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre.
