Katoomba Cafe

The question on the mind of many locals in the past 2 weeks has been  ‘What happened to Fresh Café in Katoomba?’

Café owner and manager Sarah Vassallo assures lovers of good food and great coffee that there is no need to worry. Fresh café has had a revamp – and reopened its doors as the aptly named ‘Clean Slate’ with the same friendly chef, barista and wait-staff. A little bit of Melbourne has arrived on the mountains café scene.

Winter in the Blue Mountains is the perfect time of year for chocolate aficionados to get away from it all, and spend the entire weekend enjoying attractions of the Blue Mountains, with a focus on their favourite dark delight.

During the weekend of 3, 4, and 5 July, the Blue Mountains celebrate chocolate - with events, tastings, and special menus in a variety of venues throughout the Mountains during the Blue Mountains Chocolate Festival.

The list of events is growing, so to help those who find it too hard to decide, we have put together a collection for what would be the ideal mountains getaway for chocolate lovers.

For those looking for a Blue Mountains getaway with a unique culinary experience and some quality entertainment in an iconic venue - this July may be your time to travel.

The historic Art Deco ‘Paragon Café’ is celebrating Christmas in July 1950’s style, with gourmet food, live music, trivia and dancing. Saturday evenings and Wednesday matinee’s bring the Paragon alive, with the newly restored stage nodding back to the days of old.
