The Woodford Academy is celebrating its final Open Day and art series for 2015 this Saturday 21st November, with an immersive art experience, both visual and audio, plus coffee, tea, cakes and options for unique and artistic Christmas gifts. See this wonderfully kept historic house being celebrated by the community and artists alike.

In conjunction with Modern Art Projects, Woodford Academy present 'The Transit of Venus', an electronic sound performance by local artists 'the WOWsignal'.

This electronic sound performance first presented by Modern Art Projects in its 'Art and Architecture' series is a specific work encompassing sweet melodics with quiet bursts of static-like noise, disembodied fragments of voices, biological gurgles, bleeps and pulses emanating from the furthest reaches of deep space. It is a topical work relating to the history of Woodford Academy and the original Transit of Venus measurements that combines technology and electro acoustics in what the artists describe, as an ancient future embrace. Space is deep and theWOWsignal delve deeply into the sounds of Space both Inner and Outer.  TheWOWsignal is an improvising sound artist collaboration featuring EST ET NON and Broken Chip, with the core members of the group being John Prendergast, Martin Palmer, Jerel Mani and Clint Avery.’
